The INPEX Scholarship 2026 is now open for applications, offering fully funded graduate study opportunities in Japan for students from Indonesia, Australia, and the UAE. Established in 1981, the INPEX Scholarship Foundation aims to strengthen mutual understanding through education and cultural exchange. Over the years, it has supported more than 200 scholars worldwide.
Benefits of the INPEX Scholarship 2026
Selected candidates will receive:
- Round-trip airfare from home country to Japan
- Full tuition coverage, including admission and exam fees
- Monthly stipend of ¥160,000 for living expenses
- Commuter pass reimbursement
- Preparatory allowance upon arrival in Japan
- Duration: Up to 2 years and 8 months
Japanese recipients studying abroad will also receive a monthly stipend of ¥150,000 and travel coverage.
Eligibility Criteria
For Indonesian Applicants:
- Indonesian citizen
- Degree in Natural Sciences from an Indonesian university
- GPA ≥ 3.00
- Under 30 years old
- Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from a Japanese graduate school
For Australian Applicants:
- Australian citizen
- Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, or Natural Sciences
- GPA ≥ 3.00/4.0 or 5.25/7.0
- Under 30 years old
- LOA from a Japanese graduate school
For UAE Applicants:
- UAE national
- Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, or Natural Sciences
- GPA ≥ 3.00
- Under 30 years old
- LOA from a Japanese graduate school

- Obtain a Letter of Acceptance from a Japanese university or research lab.
- Submit the completed application before the official deadline (around October 31, 2025).
