The Department of Chemistry at the University of Zurich is now inviting applications for a fully funded PhD position starting between October and November 2025. This opportunity is part of the Stacko Lab, supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
The Project & You
This research project explores the development of innovative organic dyes that transform into photoactive agents for activating and delivering drugs using tissue-penetrating light. The interdisciplinary project blends:
- Organic synthesis
- Photochemistry
- Redox chemistry
- Chemical biology
Objective
The goal is to overcome biological barriers and improve drug delivery methods using next-generation photochemical tools. This research will contribute to the development of personalized medicine and advanced therapeutics.
As a PhD candidate, you will:
